Japanese multinational company, Sony Corp., has cut the price of Reader, joined in the electronic reading device a price war with Amazon.com Inc. and Barner & Noble Inc.
In Sony's web site, The Daily Reader Edition featuring news content daily newspapers carrying valuable 299.99 dollars, down from 349.99 dollars.
Then for Touch Edition appreciated 169.99 dollars from 249.99 dollars, and the Pocket Edition cut to 149.99 dollars from 169.99 dollars, the Reuters report said.
Last week, Amazon cut the price of the most expensive series Kindle reading device, Kindle DX, to 379 dollars from 489 dollars.
A week earlier, Amazon has also reduced the price of cheap version of Kindle to be 189 dollars, just hours after the book store chain Barnes & Noble Nook reduce prices to 199 dollars.
Sticking a price war among the e-reader manufacturers anticipate competition from Apple Inc. iPad tablet computer, which also serves as an electronic reading device.
iPad valuable starting from 499 dollars, supported with a color screen and have the ability to play the video and Web browsing.
Sony could not be reached for comment. The Japanese company's shares fell less than one percent to 2.342 yen on the Tokyo stock market.
