Ballmer: Microsoft's Tablet Must be Better

Microsoft Corp. CEO Steve Ballmer acknowledged the benefits of Apple's iPad tablet computer as a qualified product. He was shocked iPad can be bestseller now. This becomes hyper CEO of Microsoft is to make the tablet a better competitor than the iPad.

"We have to make this possible with devices that use Windows, and now we are in the process to achieve it," said Steve Ballmer in front of the investors who attended a conference at Microsoft headquarters in Redmond, USA.

Ballmer said that Microsoft is working closely with several hardware manufacturer partners to improve the quality of tablet devices that use Windows 7. For distribution later, Microsoft also will add their own retail stores as many as three pieces from the current four.

Slate tablets or commonly called by Microsoft that uses Windows 7 now it has not materialized as a commercial product. Microsoft is still trying to develop it so get a product that does not lose quality with iPad. Ballmer acknowledged iPad succeed in sales success even to her surprise and Microsoft want better sales than that.

One of the drivers of the quality of Microsoft's tablet is made by Intel Corp. next year plans to produce a new processor code-named "Oak Trail". This processor will work better for a tablet device, or Slate. Ballmer revealed that this processor does not need a fan to make the device stay cool and long battery life.

Ballmer said that starting next year the competition will more exclaimed tablet device with a number of platforms that play. In addition to Windows 7, a number of hardware manufacturers are expected to use other operating systems like OS from Google's Chrome. Hewlett Packard also plans to create similar devices using the Palm platform WebOS new acquisition.
