Four of the five predicted notebook PCs will feature a graphics microprocessor, at least later in the year 2014.

According to iSuppli analyst Matthew Wilkins, the popularity of 'boom' of the product such as ultraportable notebooks and the Apple iPad has changed the paradigm for devices with small form factor and innovative.

"IPad focus on elements of Human Machine Interface (HMI), especially the touch screen. An important element of this focus is the use of HMI A4 highly integrated microprocessor, which enables system design with minimal space and cost of electronics dedicated to the core," said Wilkins to TG Daily, Thursday (12/08/2010).

"In the future, the PC maker will adopt a solution that is integrated with the semiconductor, using less power and generate less heat, enabling a smaller size factor. By integrating the functions that are usually implemented in a separate graphics chip, microprocessors and graphics played a key role in helping this effort, "he added.

However, Wilkins emphasized that the paradigm shift toward graphic that allows the microprocessor currently being led by the ultraportable notebook with a minimum penetration of 90 percent and is projected by 2014.

"Ultraportable notebooks represent the fastest-growing segment in the notebook market, with global shipments reached nearly twice as much between the years 2010-2014," he said.
