Mozilla has officially introduced the 'Chromeless', experimental projects of the Firefox makers that allow developers to create their own to display the face (user interface / UI)-made their own browser using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and other web technologies.

Previously, Mozilla Firefox using XUL (XML User Interface Language) to implement its UI. XUL also serves as one of the main tools for constructing the extension at Mozilla. The result is a customizable browser interface. But XUL has its limitations and constraints to fully customize. Similarly, as quoted by Mashable, Saturday (23/10/2010).

In addition, only the Gecko engine that supports fully XUL, which means that applications are built on the framework can not be accessed on the WebKit-based browser, like Chrome and Safari, or Trident based browsers, like Internet Explorer.

According to Marcio Galli, one of the leaders of Chromeless Project, they are trying to create an experimental toolkit which can allow developers to build their own browser using standard web technologies like HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

By making basic functions can be accessed through an HTML browser, developers can use standard Web technologies to create their own browser view. An example of this is the Mozilla browser application to use the thumbnail page as the browser tab.

Even so, the path of this project is still long.

"We already have a pre-alpha prototype is capable to fill out an HTML page and render the UI on their broswser. Within the next few months we will be adding a specific API to allow construction of the browser. We will investigate how we can integrate the features security to store Web content
