Mark Elliot Zuckerberg, founder of popular social networking today, Facebook, selected the cast of this year's version of Time magazine. The founder who is now still serves as Facebook’s CEO, beat Julian Assange’s popularity, founder WikiLeaks.
He chosen because he have contributed to to hook up more than half a billion people in the world and create social networks among them . The system he developed is considered have to change information and changing the way humans live.
"Facebook has fused with the social lives of American citizens, and not just America, but also of mankind. About half of Americans have a Facebook account, but 70 percent of Facebook users live outside the U.S.. This is a fact of global social life that can not be denied. We have entered the era of Facebook and Mark Zuckerberg is the man who brought us all here, "said Time magazine's chief editor, Rick Stengel, as announced on Wednesday (12/15/2010) television show on NBC.
If Facebook is considered a country, its population is currently at third world ranked after China and India. One in 12 people in the world use Facebook. They communicate in various languages, up to 75 languages, and spent 700 million minutes per month on up. The number of users is still increasing with the growth rate of 700,000 people per day.
Interestingly, Zuckerberg is still very young, 26 years. He built a social networking service on 19 years old when he went to Harvard in 2004 from his dorm. Originally, named Thefacebook.com and only intended to establish connections with the students. Now, Facebook users worldwide with more than 550 million people.
