This statement alarmed network security expert at Sophos. According to analysts at Sophos, they doubted if Facebook would be able to guarantee the security of its users privacy with this step.

"It will not take long for cyber criminals to take advantage of this new facility. The data must be used by cyber criminals to benefit himself," said Graham Cluley of Sophos, was quoted as saying by The Age.

Although Facebook users will be requested prior permission to access the information available, but in the virtual world like this, Cluley believes, the more smart people who can deal with such access is illegal.

One example is an application that was developed to collect data throughout the contact number on the mobile phone users. From aplication, users can suck all the existing information and use the contact numbers to send SMS spam, or sell the contact numbers to other telecommunications companies.

"Developers who are evil will have easier access to obtain personal information from users," said Cluley.
