Android Froyo 2.2 Officially Announced

Mountain View, Google finally officially announced the Android 2.2, the seventh generation of the smartphone platform based on open source it. The latest version of the software platform also called Froyo code name was announced in the recent Google I / O in San Francisco, USA, Thursday (05/20/2010).

"Today on I / O developers conference, we announced the Android 2.2. Froyo code name (from the frozen yogurt), the seventh update of the Android platform offers a new and better functionality for users," wrote Andy Rubin, VP of Engineering Google on Google's official blog, Thursday.

Andy Rubin mentioned two of the new capabilities that are not owned Froyo Android platform earlier. Andy Rubin stated the current average of 100 000 Android phones are sold each day and there were 180 000 active software developers.
