After 18 Year Absence, AutoCad Back to Apple

Autodesk is famous for its AutoCAD product, which is a software design, and engineering will come back to Mac OS after an absence of 18 years.

But the plans come back by offering the Mac OS X version of AutoCAD, Autodesk said it would release a free version of software called AutoCAD WS, for the iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch that allows users to review, editing, the AutoCAD file sharing on popular mobile devices.

The company said the AutoCAD for Mac OS X is a fully native application, in this feature is shown, including browsing the graphical design files with Cover Flow and use of the multitouch gestures on the Mac notebook, Magic Mouse, and Trackpad Magic to feature intuitive and zoom feature.

Quoted by Info World, Tuesday (08/31/2010) design patterns such as visual approach to drawing and layout management have also been incorporated into AutoCAD for the Mac.


AutoCAD for Mac offers a flexible customization options that allow for specific workflows built, simple application development and adaptation, custom configuration settings, and screen real estate options as individual workflow and project demands.

AutoCAD software for Mac OS X will be priced the same as the version of Windows, which is USD 3.995 without a subscription.

The arrival of AutoCad on a Mac is also getting excited greeting from Apple. "Apple is very pleased that Autodesk AutoCAD brought back to the Mac," said Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of worldwide product marketing.
