Nvidia has recently launched new mobile GPU Nvidia GeForce 540M GT. Is this a new era of mobile graphics technology? Not really, that's why GeForce 540M GT comes in a secret. Manufacturing done with 40nm process GPU has 96 cores and 128-bit memory bus is the same as GeForce GT 435M.
Geforce 540M runs at 672MHz, while the 435M is at 650MHz. On the memory side, this new GPU at 900MHz, while the older GPU 800MHz.
Nvidia describes the new product family of 500M, is still using the 400M technology as follows:
"With GeForce 540M GT, we take a proven architecture and uses a mature manufacturing process to create a GPU with a higher clock settings with the same power. As a result, GeForce 540M GT provides a significant increase in the fill-rate and memory bandwidth, which ultimately translates into overall performance better”.
