This is probably not surprising, given the success of Acer Aspire One is that Acer is currently developing a new model. It will not be the true successor, but a new version of AA1. Digitimes has already made a report in November that 10.1 "AA1 will be released in February 2009, but details were not known then.

Here are the details. Most of the characteristics identical to AA1, There are only a few changes. First the bad news: this is likely to be Windows XP, and only the hard disk, not Linux or SSD products. Perhaps a hoax. It will not only HDD and Linux combination, which is currently under way in various parts of Europe. Storage expansion slots have been removed, and the reader multicard put in its place. The functionality of the storage expansion in Linux software is fully established in any case. No on-board memory. There is only one DIMM slot now, with a maximum capacity of 2 GB. Screen 10.1 "with the same resolution in the current screen. 3G and Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR are optional.

Minor changes were made to the design as well. The area around the keyboard has a brushed metal finish and seamlessly integrated sensor resembles a more traditional touch, compared to the current, so that seems to have a button at the bottom. New AA1 will be available in three colors: white, black and red.
