Bulldozer & Bobcat, AMD's New Pledge

AMD finally introduced the latest generation of processors that are named Bulldozer and Bobcat. This company has a few more expectations on these new products.

"The processor code-name 'Bulldozer' for high performance PC and server market, while the 'Bobcat' to energy-efficient notebooks and small form factor desktop market, which is designed to address specific needs and calculate the workload," explained the senior VP of AMD Chekib Akrout, told TG Daily, Wednesday (25/08/2010).

"This is the central core for the future of AMD's roadmap, including the Fusion Accelerated Processing Unit (APU)," mention again.

According Akrout, Bulldozer and Bobcat are the two most important achievements in the history of the company AMD.

"The x86 architecture is at the heart of computing and AMD has continued to expand and improve the design. The Bulldozer and Bobcat shows that the path of evolution and is designed to change the user experience with the product," he said.

As for some of the advantages of two different processors in this segment,

Bulldozer

- Performance computing and multithread capable of balancing the sharing of high performance, with a brain that easily replicated.

- Support for the x86 architecture (SSE4.1, SSE4.2, AVX, and XOP including FMAC four-operand).
- Having a power management features.
- Manufactured on advanced 32nm process technology.

Bobcat
- Able to operate with sub-one-watt.
- Higher Performance.
- Estimated 90 percent of the mainstream PC performance and half days in the area.
- Working with maximal even with low power.
