Samsung Electronics Co., the world's largest television manufacturer, said it would complement their homemade TV with Google software. This was done in order to compete with Sony Corp. that offers a TV capable of browsing the Internet.
The company, based in Suwon, South Korea, is also likely to meet with Google until the end of 2010, as disclosed Yoon Boo Keun, head of Samsung's TV business. Unfortunately he's without giving further details about this cooperation.
TV makers like Samsung and Sony are entering the TV demand for Web-based programming. Companies bet on Google's Android operating system to compete with Apple Inc, which earlier this month released a TV box called Apple TV worth USD99, which provides rental movies, and TV shows from the Internet.
